Could it just be a counter balance weight has fallen off a wheel?

Or.... As a joke, maybe someone added a weight on the inside of the wheel, I remember someone playing a joke like this before.

Broken motor mount, blown shock/strut, etc., etc.

When you say that it feels like a flat, what do you mean exactly? Does it pull to that side, or does the ride feel different?

The car doesn't pull in any direction. It just has a strange rumble feel to the ride and the whole car feels unsettled. After you pull over to check things out and start up again it feels fine, sometines for a few weeks. Definately not a weight issue. I even jacked up the car and re torqued the wheels as I thought one may have been loose. It has that kind of feel. I replaced a worn link and 2 swaybar bushings in the rear end, but that didn't solve the problem.

are you in snow yet. i had a simalar problem in alaska with ice on the inner of the wheels unbalancing them which caused a bad shake. the thing with balancing accures alot. if u got a wheel shake its the front and if it is in your back (the seat) its the rear. ride solo and watch the pass seat see if it shakes. or do the aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh test and see if your voice is choppy.

My SVX started doing this. First time it happened, it was in heavy rain about 4 months ago. Last time it did it was last night in the snow. The steering shook violently and the car pulled to one side. Both instances I pulled over to check for a flat, but there wasn't one. ???

Could be. I don't hear any noise coming off of them though.

No snow yet. But I did change to my snow tires and still have the problem. I know the ice on inner rim shake. I had that mega last year on the SVX after a major snow storm that buried the car. I forgot to clean out the snow from inside the wheels and it quickly started to melt as the wheels warmed on a short run, then froze solid when I parked it over night.

Car goes to the dealer next Monday again.

So much for my extended warranty. Daimler Chrysler said they couldn't identify the problem , so couldn't charge the diagnostic to the warranty, even though they were looking at suspension and steering components. Their official line, bring it back when it's broke and not intermittant or else we have to charge you. I never had that problem when my SVX was under warranty.
