status is the same ...well I'm rockin stock hinges

I'm really upset cuz I have no time to work on my car ...I'm doing four other cars right now!!! A GS400, Scion, RX-7, and an Extreme. It's insane at work right now and there's no free spot for the SVX. That's the problem really - I can't leave it apart for a day taking up a bay spot right now.

I'm finishing the RX-7 tomorrow ...the GS400 is back from the body shop so if I can bang that out tomorrow as well - I'm in excellent shape to pull the SVX in and tear it apart after hours and let it sit over night.

I think if worse comes to worse I will stay overnight at the shop

Do you think the decah kit would work better now that you have been working the GT kit ??

Work better - NO
Install easier - YES
but they're honestly two TOTALLY different kits.

I gaurentee the decah kit can be installed in a day with just a drill, and airsaw/cut off wheel (to clear out the fender guts)

The GT kit is designed for cars where there is no kit made. Why? Well there's sooo many adjustments on the GT kit. You can adjust (at any time):

....how far the door opens normally
....when the door should open vertically
....how high the door should open vertically
....sag adjustment (makes the door shut like stock)

The decah kits are bolted on and that's it. The only adjustment really is the sag. And the sag adjustment is limited. The GT kit is just a more solid, bulky, and heavy kit. They have their pros and cons which I've talked about earlier.

So does anyone think we could ever get true scissor doors? I mean one that when you lower them you don't have to pull them in to shut it. Just up and down.... Just curious if it is possible

Yes and no

Mine only open (no joke) about 2-3 inches outward so it's pretty close. The problem lies in the door panel. That curve where it connects to the actual dash board sticks out too far and would get in the way of the windsheild.

So if you made a flat boring door panel then it's definitely doable with probably the only modification being the latch.

what i love most in the SVX is the flowing interior of the dash/door... it's a shame to ruin it. I told you i can help you out, maybe design a modified fiber fender for your application? , you definitely need to change it, or think of letting the door open an inch further to the outside... maybe?
