Phew! That makes me feel better.

Significant Technical Input
Re: Transmission - Internal Filter Change

The filter it shows coming in the kit is the wrong filter for our cars anyway. It's one of the short pickup tube versions which were never used on the SVX.

If you look at the original filter you can see the longer pick up tube which reaches much deaper in the pan to pick up fluid. That is the correct filter for our cars.

The "black grime" isn't a problem. That's just normal wear and it doesn't clog the screen. Now, what you see on the screen of that filter is a different story. It's full of "stuff." That means at least one friction has disintegrated.

That's the one I am talking about. There is no curved portion, its just all flat.

This appears to be the right one:http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web...ley_18025933-p

PS. Same part is only $19.07 plus a couple of bucks shipping at: http://www.rockauto.com/

BTW, I posted this in another thread, but it's fitting here. This is what a clogged filter looks like to the point where it allows ZERO line pressure and no movement in any gear.

Thanks for the good info. When I was at the two Advance Auto stores, neither had the beck filter available unfortunately.

I also have AutoZones nearby and they apparently have a Duralast filter in stock as well. I will hit those stores up next and see what they look like out of the box.
