Jason Porter looked at doing it, but I could not see a way of doing it, at the present time. Harvey.

The rear wheels will spin and turn the rear wheel drive clutch pack that is located at the rear of the transmission. This will cause the clutches to overheat since there is no fluid circulating thru the transmission for cooling. Actual if you drive slowly, I think it less than 35mph for less than 20 minutes then no damage will occur.
This is only true for an SVX type auto box. Don't ever do this for any length of time with a manual type box that has the viscous coupling as that will burn up the coupling pretty fast and then you get FULL time ALL the time AWD and that makes it tough to turn a corner. In the auto box case where the rear wheel drive clutches are all torn up inside, it may try to spin more parts in the box and do different damage. Best of luck to you.
