You're not comparing the same parts. Koni's for a BMW are definately not the same as Koni's for the SVX. I doubt anyone besides Koni themselves know the bound/rebound rate for our struts.

Konis for BMW's are stiffer than that of the SVX. Check it out by yourself. My friend switched his Konis with Boge's until he got 90% stiffness compared to my SVX. I compared the stiffness of my suspension with that of a modified Group N Impreza rally. the same result.

Thumbs up Purchase Flash

Just FYI, I contacted Ann at Classic Garage today, mentioning Todd (thanks Todd!) and the SVX Board/Community. I informed her of her competition's offer of free shipping, now on new link/sale btw; and she said their policy is to match what's out there, and agreed to waive shipping. What a nice lady to talk to as well. Perky and cheerful, and a pleasure to deal with. So, you heard it (again) here. Koni's!!! WOOO!!!

Glenn,
Glad it worked out for you. I think they should have a picture of Ann next to the definition of "Good Customer Service" in the dictionary

Question

For those who've used the Koni. If the shaft of the Koni is smaller than OEM will the OEM "helpers" aka "bumpstops" work with them? If not, do the Koni's come with new, correctly sized ones?

Thanks David! Guess that will add another $100 to the cost of the swap. My LF bump-stop(aka "Helper") is already split and needed a zip-tie to stay up, so I'm assuming I'll need new ones to make this a true "Lifetime" swap. Or perhaps I'll just do the fronts as they appear to work harder than the rear? $50 sounding better!
My car rarely carries rear seat passengers or heavy cargo. That's what Mom's Wagon is for! Strut inserts have arrived!!!

They don't have to stay up. They can slide on the shaft.

Set 'em and forget 'em.

To adjust the rears they must be compressed then the shaft rotated. You'll probably only want to do this once. I would recommend one full revolution from full stiff as a compromise between race and comfort.

As for the fronts I've found that full soft is way too soft (bouncy) and full stiff is too stiff for everyday driving. I normally set the fronts 1 rotation from full stiff as well for normal driving.
