Just a suggestion for anyone who is thinking of doing the same thing.

Yeah I'm sure the prices will come down some time. I was working on breaking my second 5 speed so I figured it was time to upgrade. I was gonna go with some RA gears and an LSD front diff but to do all that and pay someone qulified to put it together I would be spending about the same amount.

Try to follow along will ya. It's not ready to roll yet, althoe it would have been damn close this weekend if Kingpin would get there heads out there asses and get me the rest of my parts.

I was just annoying that I didn't have my stuff before, but now it is officially holding me up and pissing me off.

Anyone live near Phoenix thats wants to go to Kingpin and smack someone in the head for me?

sorry to hear that someone is holding up progress. that sux i know personally, i am still waiting for those aluminum radiators so i can get my 5speed running so i can finish other things on it. I have another 4-7 weeks until i can expect to see one. if i am lucky that is. I may start my body work after i finish this semester(Still in Sophmore year in college). I need to get the radiator, in the mean time i will be checking the speed sensor and all the suspension related bushings to find out where my rattles are comming from. I also need to go out and get a custom exhaust from headers back, this will cost a pretty penny but i know a guy that can do a good job. Then hopefully its off to the races in the spring. well good luck w/ ur 6mt and i want to hear about progress when u make it.

Good news, I should "should" have the rest of my stuff for this weekend. I can't say for sure i'll be driving it this weekend but it would have a 6 speed in it and be very close to being driven. The only question is if the STI front axles will be of the right size and outer spline. If not then i'm gonna need to do some Franken mating or total costom axles$$$$ So pray for me.

if the old STI axles won't fit, it might be a shot in the dark but the 05 STI axles might be a match. They are using a similar hub right??

If they don't fit, you might try giving raxles a call. raxles.com

They rebuild cv axles and might be able to help you out. It is worth a try.

Here is a pic of the x-member in the car.

BTW: This is the same X-member I was using with the 5 speed, so the mounting position is the same from the 6 to the 5 speed.

Here's another angle of the installed tranny. It's like putting an auto back in. This thing is huge, and notice how close it clears everything.

Very, very cool pics Jesse. Damn, just thinking of the times you'll run with that 6-speed Stage II SVX next season makes me weak in the knees...

Here are the extended shifter rods and reverse lockout cable.

Each of these needs to be extended 3 1/2 inches.
