Vaguely humorous observations...

I went to Advance Auto Parts to pick up a PCV valve. Looked through the book, grabbed the part, took it up to the counter to pay. Just to be sure, I asked them to run it through the computer to make sure it's the right one. "'92 Subaru", I say.

"What make is that?"

Okay, okay...

Have you ever been disappointed that those automated speed displays the cops put out only show two digits?

More humorous observation - or the stupid things people say

Along the same train of thought;

I pulled into my local Honda dealer to get a part for my wife's 2001 Odyssey. As I get out of the car, the salespeople standing outside getting their nicotine fix are ogling the car with the obvious 'what'n the hell is that' look in their eyes. One of them tries to show off his knowledge of cars yells out "Nice SVT ya got there!"

In 2001 a few of us did the Autofest car show. It was mostly <cough> geezers in hot rods, but a few of them came by to say hi and asked a few questions. My favorite: an elderly lady asking me, 'who makes the Subaru?'

Mistaken Identity

I would punch the guy who called it an avenger, those cars are junk! They actually have worse tranny problems!
I had someone call one of mine a probe and I Told them that that is hitting below the belt.

hahaha...well thats the price to pay for having a rare car. After he said it i went home and looked at avengers online and could'nt find anything that closely resembled an SVX at all. Well on a lighter note someone mistook it for an Acura NSX today.

Not a bad car for a person to mistake an SVX for...

"Well this...ahem...is my NSX and it's been quite reliable over the years. Does well in the snow too!"

One of my best friends bought a Honda del Sol just a couple months ago, and we've spent a fair amount of time comparing the two. They approach performance from very different perspectives.

His car weighs half as much and has way more trunk space...

The guys at the oil change place right next to where I work like to stand outside and go "what the hell kinda car is that?" whenever I park.
