Trim and Mirror Removal

I's like to remove my side view mirrors, as well as the plastic panels at the base of the "C" pillars near the rear of the car (the ones with the rubberized "Subaru SVX" emblems affixed to them). Mine, like all of the ones on the other Brilliant Red SVXs I've seen, are extremely faded and need to be repainted (I've tried compounding them, and there's not enough good paint underneath to make a difference).

Can anyone walk me though the removal process?

Thanks a lot.

After a somewhat lengthy search of past threads, I learned that the trim at the base of the "C" pillar is called a "rear quarter garnish," and apparently is removed by removing the plastic pin at the rear of the piece and then tugging the piece toward the rear of the car.

Now, anyone have any advice on removal of the side view mirrors?

Thanks. -- Joe
