a/c retro kits

Does anyone know were I can get a A/C retro kit for my 92 SVX. I have R12 with a bad o-ring. I want to change out the 0-rings, receiver/drier, and lines if needed.
Thank in advance for the help.

Steve

You can get the retro kits at most auto parts stores. As far as the O-rings, you can get those from the stores as well. Which ones do you need?

All of the other hoses and parts can be purchased from Subaruparts.com or 1stsubaruparts.com.

Good luck

Earl's right.

I have a retrofit kit which consists of a couple R134 connectors and a pile of green o-rings. I also bought the dryer. Unfortunately I still haven't got around to installing everything yet

If I do the conversion, how many cans will it take to initially fill it?

The kit comes with 3 cans (depending on the kit). That should do it. One thing that was not mentioned is that you need to dump out the old oil from the compressor and when installing the new stuff, oil is added with it.

Mine is a '94 LE and has R134a stock. I'm guessing that '94 was the first production year with R134a because I have come to understand that the '93 model year cars were all identical with almost exactly the same setup as the '92.

I thought 93's actually had R134a?

The kits should hopefully come with a sticker that indicates the A/C system is using R134a. The current R12 sticker will indicate how much to fill the system.
