Do not go with Geico!

I have read reports that say they GIVE police departments radar and laser guns. All in the name of safetly of course.

I think I first read about it in Car & Driver. Here's a site that mentions how much they give:
http://tipmra.com/insurance_scam.htm

This site reports that Geico was planning on not insuring people who have radar detectors (they were stopped by state officials):
http://www.paynofine.com/traffic-tic...insurance.html

I'm sure other insurance companies also dontate money to law enforcement to buy radar guns, but Geico is the worst offender. If I ever find out Allstate does it too, I'll drop them so fast.

You could try telling Geico to replace your car with one that's comparable (year, mileage, condition), less your $1000 deductible and the mods. If they do any looking, they'll see how low-ball their offer is.

I hope things turn out well for you.

Yea... thought about that but I'm gonna persue a nice amount of money first... Then if they can't do it then I'll tell them to get me another car...... Either way, they are really getting the hint now that I'm not gonna go away easily...

I'll be interested to hear how this turns out. Honestly, I don't think you're going to get very far - whether with your methods or any others. I think the best you can hope for is a bit of a compromise from them in hopes of making you go away. If you don't take that, I doubt they'll budge any further.

Good luck, though.

On top of that, does the passenger-side airbag always break the windshield? If so, how can I disable mine? That's probably half the reason insurance companies end up totalling SVXs when they're crashed (airbags + windshield).

Pull the Air Bag fuse... that is the way to disable it... either that or get in there and cut wires leading to the airbag... I forgot to pull mine and look what it got me ...

The reason why the airbags deployed is because the sensors are on the outter left and right of the front of the car... I hit while in a slide which hit one of the sensors right on.... That's why they went out... I know it's a ****ty deal, but het I look at it like this... Atleast I can but it back and there is a small amount of damage so the car can be repaired... And you better believe that I'm going back up there before I see it and am gonna conqure the road that had me last time!!!! I won't back down!!!

You'll be real pleased with yourself when your front-seat passenger's head breaks your windshield in a crash.

Give me a little credit, eh. Ideally I'd like to install a keyswitch like some cars have for when you put a child seat in the front passenger seat. Then I could turn it off when there's no passenger (which is most of the time).

Not sure about the SVX - but on most cars, the front passenger seat belt will need to be buckled for the airbag to go off for that seat.

Forgive me; I think the "cut the wires..." remark from the previous post is what yanked my chain.
