Opinion on Neons

Ok, I know what you all are thinking, Mr. Slayer is going to sell the SVX and get a Neon. NO WAY IN HELL WOULD I DO THAT.

What this post is all about is two 36 inch neon tubes on the underside of the car. My plan is to put them on the sides underneath the doors. I have a blue lighting theme with the car already on the inside. So I was just wondering what people think about neons underneath the beast.

Would the car come off as ricey or would it come off as tasteful.

I don't want to go overboard with the lights, which is why I'm keeping it simple. I am gearing the car towards the show car image for now but if it indeed proves to be tacky, they are comming off and will find a place inside the car. Let me know what you all think, and I'll post some pics ASAP.

Keith

If they are done right and you can't see the bulbs then it would look good, but I personally wouldn't get them.

I think they look a bit ricey, but if you like that kind of thing, go for it.

Sorry Keith, I have to agree with the Shark - neon lights increase the rice factor on any car!

I'm thinking about removing mine. They are really getting used. I used them all the time at first, but the novalty wore off quick. they more trouble then they're worth now. They keep shorting and getting broken.

I'm agreeing with MikeCG

I say absolutely go for it, then again I'm the one with over 30 accent lights on the interior(no wires or bulbs in view). But the novelty WILL wear off, and you will discontinue using them eventually. I know I certainly did... though every once and a while i'll flick em on again, and its all fun...

And I think you can get away with ALOT w/ the svx before it actually hits 2fast2furious looks wise.

Wire it up, feel like 'the shiz', get bored, stop using them, forget about them, remember them a month later, use them for a day, completely forget about them, notice them again when you hear one break.

Its all cool

well, I guess i'll be the one to go against the crowd, I like the neon effect, if it is done correctly. I was considering putting REd neons under my car when I get it back

the undercar doesn't look bad... but those freaking windshield squirters are rediculous... i HATE cars with those... so dumb... only reason to get them is the fact that they mist rather than spraying... keep those off, and you're fine
