Yeah, well, I'm a 46 year old, graybeard grandfather. She's closer to my daughter's age, and stunning.

Oh, and she's married.

And now that I think about it, she's technically my boss.

And I hope, after your performance, you're still technically her employee.

Ron.

I appreciate the sentiment. Actually thought about that (after the fact), apologized, swallowed the stupid lump in my throat and offered to collect my stuff and be gone for good, but it's been nothing but business as usual. She's holding-up her end of the deal and doing a distressingly good job of pretending we never had the conversation. My greatest regret is that I might well have wrecked a perfectly decent friendship.

I doubt we'll continue going out for lunch two or three times per week in my SVX.

To flip that nickel, mine is surely the only SVX within 100 miles; suffice it to say that I'd previously seen only one, and that was a glimpse from a distance across a highway in southern Vermont. In this area where every third car on the road is a white '97 Lumina, I almost feel too conspicuous.

Your SVX is surely NOT the only one within 100 miles. There are several in Atlanta, NC, Macon, Columbus- depending on where you are in North GA. Actually, I may be within 100 miles (my weekend address is is North GA!!)

Anyway, enjoy the heck out of it!!

If you can somehow, at the "proper" time, declare that "Someday when you're an old goat like me, certain misguided advances will become welcomed flattery", etc. Then smile & say "Sorry ol' pal, I offer you the keys to the SVX, as a token of my profoundest apology". "You may drive us to lunch, as long as you stick to business". Keep smiling.
If the gal has a sense humor, you win. If not, there's always unemployment insurance.

Best 'o luck, Ron.

Well put; thanks. Actually, she hit a rough patch a couple of weeks ago (husband spent Christmas in jail; I'm not making this up), got all weepy as we returned to the office from lunch, and I did offer her the keys.

Bottom line: When it comes to matters of the heart, I'm an idiot.

You know, I asked her months ago if her fella was aware of our regular lunch outings. Nope. She assured me he wouldn't mind and said I "shouldn't feel guilty."

Man, I'd mind.

As to ideas, if I had any, I wouldn't be sitting her relating this pathetic story.

Yes, I've read here of several other SVXs in the region, but have yet to see one. I'm about as far north as one can get and still be in Georgia; right on the line with Tennessee.
