selling help choose

I have a 03Neon my wife has a 04 Solara and we just dont have room for 4 cars. I need to either sell my 87 XR4TI or my 92 SVX but I cant decide. Everything works in my XR(for now) but the A/C could be colder and my SVX needs work leaks tranny fluid onto exhaust and oil(valve seals need replacing)
love them both and cant decide

i'd say get rid of the Neon, but that is just me

which car is more expensive to fix? an 87 will cause you problems sooner or later. so i would say to get rid of the car that would be more expensive or keep the car you love more

I am a pessimistic optimistic. I think the worst is going to happen, that way when it does, i don't feel as bad, but if the best happens, i am twice as happy.

i'de keep the svx because it's such a more comfortable vehicle to drive. i understand the merkur is a screamer and the svx needs work, but to me the svx is in a different and higher league. the merkur is also prone to problems ya know. and yes, i've owned both.

I had a XR4ti when I worked for Dominos pizza back in around "1990" it was a screamer, and a typical Ford (Fix or Repair daily) So I say Sell it. You'll get a good price I think. I would also sell the Neon (god I hate neons) fix you SVX and upgrade the hell out of it and put the rest in the bank for a rainy day

What do you think were gona say. The SVX is not an easy car to keep, most people can't hack it and give it up.

Take it from Kelli, she sold her SVX to buy a ford and see how she is now. Even she says sell the ford.

And she never claimed to be the sharpest knife in the drawer. I still can't believe she did that. Oh Kelli!

I just cant part with them. I dont have the money to get the svx fixed right now so I will park it in my moms driveway same with the XR4TI It now needs a starter and its too cold to mess with it. I think I will hold on to them and hope I get some money from somewhere. That is if I dont do something crazy like buy this 3000GT I've been eyeing.

P.S. If anyone knows of someone selling a Mitsubishi starion or a Chrysler conquest in the Maryland area let me know. Thanks.

tran fluid + exhaust = bbque

It's only because the tension clip on the transmission fluid pipe isn't done up tight or the fabric tube is decayed that the fluid drips on the exhaust - but beware - see my thread on Europe: Doner Kebab - easy to fixand ffffatal to ignore/miss/wrongly diagnose. The pipe is clearly visible between the block and the bulkhead in front of the TR dipstick.

Sell the house and all your stuff (even the wife if necessary) and by a 10 car garage (with a bathroom). Get yourself a cot and a hotplate and set up in the back corner. I dont need to mention the garage should be heated. Anyone who cares about they're car already knows that.
