Nice little movie.

Earthworm has a copy of my UK meet video (SVCD) on his ftp. Feel welcome to use it in your new SVX website.

Thx. I when I chose music for it I was trying to find something cheesy, but still had an excellent beat. The Miami Vice Theme was it!

About the video, I'd have to see it. What video were you referencing. I did not see one in earthworms locker, nor at the "www" button he has in his profile. Do you have a link?

I think it's pretty cool. A little on the short side but I like it!

Thanks!

I plan on making a longer video later, but I just whipped that one together lastnight in iMovie. I'll probably make a longer one in Final Cut Pro when I find some time, so it should be a bit more professional.

Talking SVX Video

Thanks!

I enjoyed it!

Only critique is stills of your SVX could be a quarter second longer.

Good music selection.

Thanks for your comments and for your suggestion, but if I made the stills a quarter second longer, I wouldn't have been able to create the sound sychronized effect. The images are sync'ed to the beat of the music.

If you want to see some stills, you can check out www.arondale.com/svx/pics.html

Do a search for the SVX drag racing video I made. You'll dig it.

I now have a rough version of one of my films in my webspace.

www.guernsey.net/~linehan/stratford.wmv

What is the best way to reduce a movie for the net and can I get it back to 16:9 as it is a little squashed?

I looked and the stratford video and its pretty cool. To export it back into a normal looking video you need to re-export the video from the original tape. you can do this by using iMovie or Final Cut Pro on a Mac.

If you have a PC, try using Premiere.

You do not want to import the video into a program and, skew it (or not) and re-export it. That would be applying a codec on top of a codec (compressing an already compressed file). A big no-no. It will look and sound like crap. For those of you unfamiliar with codecs, it is a video and/or audio algorithm used to apply color correction, audio notch filtering, and compression, etc. to a file size that is presentable to distribute.

If you want to export in into a variety of optimized formats, try Cleaner 5 or 6. Awesome program.

CHICANE - I tried to find your video but it is no longer at the link http://home.engr.utexas.edu/solisr/Stuff/dragsvx.mov as it was posted. I dig that you use a mac. I actually use both...one P4 and 2 G4s. I usually see those that use a mac as being a bit more intelligent. Macs might not play quake at 100fps, but they generally are more stable, easy to accomplish difficult tasks, and the design of OS X is stellar.

So, where's that video?
