subaru enthusiast club of america

i am a representative from the subaru enthusiasts club of America. basically we are an organization that is attempting to create something similar to the BMWCCA. Currently we are focusing our efforts in the tri-state area (pa, ny, nj). this will be a brick and mortar club, as in we have real meets and discuss matters concerning the club at the time. benefits in the future will include track days, discounts from local vendors, and the like.
we are having our next meet in allentown, pa at a place we have not yet decided. if you are in any way intersted or have questions please email me at subaruenthusiastclub@yahoo.com
we are inviting all subaru enthusiast, so you do not have to have one to join.

I used to be a member of the SCOA (Subaru Club of America). I think they are now defunt. I have had no sucess trying to contact the people. Do you know anything about the present status of that club?

i am not sure on the present status of that club.

SECA pretty much came about because a lot of us on the NASIOC board felt that subaru owners needed something that had some organization and would be able to work for them. it has been developing since mid-December and we have been making progress.. We pretty much wanted to make the club accessible to to people interested in the car, hence the enthusiast part of it, and we have recently decided that we are in the position to broadcasting ourselves to all Subaru owners because we finally have the bylaws and such finalized. any questions, comments, or just smart remarks are great

thanks,
Christian

I am somewhat involved in this. Haven't taken on too many responsibilities cause I don't have the time, but definitely a good idea. The idea behind it is to create a club similar to the BMWCCA and/or Porsche Club of America.

How about sliding the southern boundary down to Maryland/D.C./Virginia? We're feeling a little left out down here

Delaware is about halfway between Baltimore and Allentown (driving time, not miles - due to roads). Plus, I know all the good watering holes in this area.

Bill,

Can you get on Ron, Rufus, yourself, SVXit, Richard 51, etc. about organizing a Baltimore SVX Meet & Crab Fest in late summer or early fall? Thanks.

Funny you should mention...

a crab feast!

Ron was down to the house last weekend to drop off some parts and we got to talking about the crab feast. I'm more than willing to have it at my place - plenty of space (6 acres) to spread out. Only down side is that I'm around 30-60 minutes south of Ron's place. Ron, oh, Ron?? Rufus?

we don't really have a "set" boundary". if you are willing to partake in someway, that is good enough

Plus, what a great photo-op for your front yard, Bill. I'm sure we're all up for this. Just a matter of planning.

My apologies to Christian, who originally had the floor.

Ron (Rufus? John? Harry?)

Let's Go!

Ron,
I'm ready to start working on this as soon as you are, just give me a call. My only condition is that we'll have to wait until my yard has dried out -- it's very much a mosh pit right now with all the rain. The idea of a group photo shoot over by the barn is very cool...we'll have to see if we can get GreenMarine to drive up and climb up on the barn roof to take the picture (ooops, I forgot, he's off to Australia)

The idea behind SECA is to create a national organization, and then incorporate various chapters similar to the way the SCCA works and BMWCCA.

For instance we already have the following areas interested in chapters:

Pittsburg/W PA
Buffalo-Rochester
Capital District/Albany
NY-NJ-PA-CT Metro Area
TN-W NC-GA

A Nation's Capital/BW Chapter would be awsome.

We'd like to setup auto-xs, car shows, etc. etc. Hopefully bring on more chapters as we go along as well.
