Tire size question
I was wondering about tires sizes and what would work and what won't. I am getting tires for my extra car (01 Outback wagon) and the tire size is 225/60/16. Found a guy on CL that has ones for sale with a few thousand miles on them that are still 10/32nd and figured I would go that route over buying new for a car that is not my primary car.
Considering I am also looking at putting money into my SVX with the head gasket issues I don't want to put out a lot for this wagon as it is a secondary vehicle so this is the better option for me. My primary car is still my Lincoln LS. The thing is these are 225/55/16. Will these work? What is the difference exactly and what other sizes of tires (obviously 16") would work as well if I am looking for tires? Thanks. |

Re: Tire size question
Here ya go: http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Tire-Size-Calculator
They are 3.33% smaller. 3% is the recommended limit but I wouldn't worry about .3%, especially if the price is right. A tiny bit small is better than too large.(For some things) Last edited by Blacky; 07-30-2014 at 05:31 AM. |

Re: Tire size question
Still didn't find anything until today, but these are 225/65/16. Good deal on them so I am probably going to jump on it. These still work?

Re: Tire size question
3.33% larger, close enough I suppose.

Re: Tire size question
If they are all the same size (all 4 equal ) should be fine. Don't think I would go a lot bigger in circumference.
