Arrow Made it home, Bad news.

I couldn't find pacific so I took I-5 to 405 then to 167. traffic was backed up at the 405-167 interchange so I had to stop, when i started going again, large thunks and shaking car prevented me from driving over 15 MPH, so I tried to get to the nearest exit driving on the shoulder, but I couldnt make it. Reason, there was an abandon ford taurus about 200 feet from the offramp blocking my path, so I had to call a tow truck to haul me from 167 back to south hill. I was waiting for it for about an hour or so because traffic was so backed up, that was a long hour. Anyway me and the car are home, Me: safe, Car: not on my good side and broken. If I wouldn't owe money on it after I get rid of it I would be getting the number for auto trader. I am so sick of this car breaking every time I get close to fixing something that is wrong with it. Thanks for your help today everyone. I'd also like to mention that I had a great time until........

If you fix it before it breaks, it will not break

I should fix mine too.

As if THAT were an original thought. Keep heart. Most of us have been there, and those who haven't, likely will. In the long run, I think most of us who have been there, find that the joys of the car, while it's running, far outweigh the frustration of it when it isn't.

Get with some of the Northwest owners out there in your area for a cold brew and a morale "pick-me-up." It'll work wonders.

I'm glad you made it home ok. We all agreed that it sounded like the CV Joint when you drove out of the parking lot. Do you have any other ideas at this time? Stay in touch, and keep us informed of your progress. Maybe you will have it fixed by the time we have another meet. Good luck.

Good to hear you made it home and didn't have to tow it ALL the way.

Best wishes for a speedy and hopefully low cost recovery!

I know it is not much consolation right now, but thanks for making the drive all the way up Saturday. You get the award for coming from the farthest distance.

after reading a post on the technical q&A forum, it sounds like it might be the front diff requireing me to cost effectivley buy a new transmission all together. I might be able to get a loan on that but if that was the case I would have to definitaly find new insurance, someone that charges me less than 300 a month.

Well, that sounds like it COULD be good news... sorta. I mean if you were already thinking a new tranny was in your future, two birds with one stone! Of course this might be faster than you were planning for tranny replacing.

What's up with your insurance? I have NEVER paid close to that on any car in my life! (including an old V-8 Trans Am with full coverage when I was 17) Now I finally understand what you mean in your signature about highway robbery and all that.

Well I guess everyone's situation is different for things that affect the rates, but hopefully you can do some shopping and get that figure down a bit.

Again, good luck with the repairs!

So you're the one who caused that backup down south? (Sorry).

Hope the repairs/insurance switch works out.

i didnt cause the backup, the backup was the reason I had to stop, then go and find out my car wouldn't go anymore.

Is that kinda like, "came up missing?"

(Sorry, man. Just trying to throw some levity into, what I know is, a tense situation -- I sincerely hope things work out as inexpensively as possible)
