SvX 93 Radiator Needed

Has anyone had any experience getting a radiator from the US? Anyone know of a used radiator available in Oz? It is a real pain trying to find one!

I assume that your radiator has developed the (all too common!) crack in the top tank, where the upper radiator hose is attached?

The spare radiator that I have has that exact problem, and I have been thinking about ways to repair it.

You may want to take the radiator to a specialist to see if they can replace the top tank - but I have a feeling that it may well be cheaper to order a new radiator from the USA.

I used www.1stsubaruparts.com when I ordered the parts required to the timing belt / water pump / thermostat service on my grey SVX - they were considerably cheaper than ordering from the local dealer, and all of the parts that I needed were available.

Thanks Jason - mine is a crack in the bottom tank for a change and I agree that the USA is probably the best solution as so far cannot locate anything in Oz and it is $2K from Japan - ridiculous when a replacement radiator costs $180.00 in the USA free delivery anywhere in US! I should be able to land it here for under $400.

I got a pwr radiator in 2004 when I had a '93 SVX, and it was only $600 and all shiny. They are like art in your engine bay!

I've got a spare stock one that I may be able to be convinced to part with.

Plastic tanks, in as new condition.

Many thanks but beeing with the car I needed to act rather swiftly - i ordered one from the US! Subaru quoted me $2200 for a new one from Japan and I'll land the one from US for lest than $400!
