NJ Brat on Ebay
Been a while since I have seen one on the east coast most are in washington, oregon, Idaho, california, and of course Arizona and Nevada. This one doesn't look too bad like some, I wouldn't mind picking one up one of these days....

Re: NJ Brat on Ebay
I've always wanted a Brat. Had an '86 GL wagon, 5 speed, dual-range 4WD, white spoke wheels just like the Brat listed. Bought it new, loved it, wore it out. Subaru should still make a vehicle like this.

Re: NJ Brat on Ebay
Pretty turd. As a former brat owner (who still thinks the EA81 was the high watermark for Subaru) but the owner is crazy to think it has been properly rust proofed. It is very much of a macco restoration. Buy from the west if you want one and have it shipped. Rust is terminal for the EA81s

Re: NJ Brat on Ebay
When you don't have to r&r your tranny every year you can do that. Both Subaru and TVR are known for putting the spare up front and they both claim it is for added crash protection.

Re: NJ Brat on Ebay
I think all old Subies were that way until the advent of the Legacy and passing of the Loyale (G-series) platform. Excellent space utilization. I liked having a storage cubby beneath the wagon's cargo floor, where every other car maker would have put the spare.

Re: NJ Brat on Ebay
and if you turn the spare over, you have more storage for a jug of coolant or a sack of tools in the center of the rim.

Re: NJ Brat on Ebay
Fiat also uses the spare in the engine compartment in several models, as well of the first Volkswagen Gol.

Re: NJ Brat on Ebay
I would like to see how it would drive with a 2.5 engine and 4.44 set up in it one. Though I am sure that kind of conversion would be pretty involved I still think a modded Brat would be pretty fun to have and drive!

Re: NJ Brat on Ebay
No, they are just fine with heat, i think that the mild heat may be good for the rubber.

Re: NJ Brat on Ebay
The engine bay of an EA81 Subaru doesn't get as hot as the engine bay of an SVX
