OEM CD Player

I'm having a weird problem with my CD player and am wondering if anyone else has had it and if there is a fix. When I put a CD into the player, it lights up, says disc, then title and track without any numbers below them. Pretty soon after this, it pops the disc back out and switches back over to the radio. Any ideas? Thanks!

Re: OEM CD Player

Its having trouble reading it. If its a Recordable CD-R, try burning it on the slowest speed possible. If its a store-bought cd, try using a cd laser lens cleaner.

Re: OEM CD Player

Your CD player is probably wearing out. Replace it with one from a 96 or 97 SVX. They have totally different internal components which will not wear out.

Re: OEM CD Player

Mine does it as well. Just a problem with older cd players.

Re: OEM CD Player

You might try a CD lens cleaner disc. Relatively cheap fix before giving up on the deck.

Re: OEM CD Player

The cd player in my '92 played regular and CD-r's just fine for a while. Not long ago it started to have issues skipping and such so I bought a cleaner kit. The cleaning helped for a while but eventually it stopped playing. It would just spit the cd back out burned or not.
I think your player is just getting old. If yours is already rejecting cds getting a cleaner kit probably won't help. Time for a new CD player imo.

Re: OEM CD Player

essveeexxee-
Sometimes when it is really cold the cd 'fogs up' with condensate in the player and causes errors.
