Thumbs up Memphis "Micro" Meet

Just got back from Memphis at 2 this afternoon, took the dog out, fed the bird, had some soup and caught up on posts.

Had a wonderful time with Leo (1994subaruSVX) and his beautiful wife Marcella (?sp). I came back with my car loaded down with all kinds o' goodies. The wheels are ten times better looking than mine. I can't wait to get them on, but, need to find a paint match for the caps first (svxcess, do you have that paint number for the light colored aluminum wheels?). I also have front and rear struts ready to be put on when the current ones begin to fail. Along with a few other little goodies that Leo was getting rid of.

I was treated to an excellent lunch, then, we did the wiring upgrade on Leo's car, then, he let me drive it -- WOW! Much faster than my poor, pitiful AWD car. Very responsive. The "lowered" look with the Enkei's and bright yellow calipers makes the care look lean and mean (or should I say leaner and meaner). The exhaust sounds a little "ricey" (don't worry, I said it to Leo in person, and he didn't send me home, so, it didn't make him mad ).

We hung out the entire day, and I don't think I could have found a nicer couple to spend a day with. Of course, it was like Leo said: "we've never seen each other, but, I know you." That tends to be the general concencus when SVXers from the "boards" get together. I just hope I didn't make to bad of an impression, since my head was actually twice the size it usually is, due to a "over doing it" at a co-worker's going away get together on Friday night.

Again, Leo and Marcella. thank you for your hospitality. Hope to do it again sometime. Come visit us!

randy....

it was really nice to finally get to meet a fellow svxer especially from the net. for a 92 your car is in really good shape. i was completely jealous of the leather on your gear shift and steering wheel. i can not wait to see how the wheels look on your car, nice and shiny! also i can not thank you enough for coming down to get the wheels. you helped me avoid the extreme hassle of trying to ship them. so far so good with the alternator mod, thank you so much for doing it for me.

thanks for the compliments regarding my wife, everyone thinks she is pretty for some reason?!

i appreciate the compliments on the car considering i have invested a lot of money in it, the damn thing better look good! i will have to disagree with you on the ricer sound of my exhaust though. i remember you saying it sounded rice-like but my car doesnt whine it rumbles. it doesnt sound like a high pitched honda. it also doesnt sound like v-8 camaro, i think it falls nicely in the middle. anyway i am glad you enjoyed driving my svx, i know i do. it was nice to get a fellow svxers opinion on my car.

maybe sometime soon we can make the pilgrimage to owensboro for some good old kentucky bbq. i am glad to hear you made it home ok and it really was a pleasure having you down on a beautiful saturday afternoon. still cant forget the really cool feeling of looking in my rearview mirror and seeing a svx. ah there is a heaven.......

Wink

Yellow calipers? Aredub, you said the color YELLOW in an approving manner.... Almost as if you LIKE that color. If it looked good on the calipers, it must look better on the wheels, and.. and next, THE WHOLE CAR!!!! So, you're out of the closet now? ARRRGHHHHHHH! Tsu.

<<thanks for the compliments regarding my wife, everyone thinks she is pretty for some reason?!>>

Well, only those who have eyes and can see. Of course, I left out the part where I should have said her spirit was just as beautiful. You guys are a perfect match.

<<maybe sometime soon we can make the pilgrimage to owensboro for some good old kentucky bbq.>>

Well, if you do, or, when you do, I'll make sure I'm able to have a cold frosty one . . . or two, this time.

No, Ron, I was just mentioning it as a matter of "fact." I will never approve of the "Y" word when it comes to the color of an ENTIRE SVX. That would definitely be grounds for an . . . well, you know.

God made Eve for Adam right?

Adam said, "god why did you make her so lovely?"

god: "So you'd love her."

adam: "god, why did you make her smell so good?"

god: "So you'd love her."

adam: "god, why did you make her so stupid?"

god: "So she'd love you."
