What Brand Alternator should I buy, and whats a good price with a core charge. Where should I buy from, dealer, or auto parts store.

OEM is always good it's hard to go wrong. Subaru only sells remans now the part number 23700AA190R1 the R1 in the part number means reman and they charge a $50 core. The way it works is let say you have a 2007 STI and for some reason you need an alternator you wrecked the front end or fried it etc,etc. The thing is you can only buy a new one because the failure rate on a new model car is so low Subaru waits a few years before starting a reman program. I actually have a brand new genuine OEM not reman 23700AA190 which is not available from Subaru any more.
