fix one trans problem and another occurs
Ok I had the new front dif installed and now Im getting other issues. Before having the dif replaced the torque converter would lockup and stay locked up. Now it rarely locks and when it does it only stays for a few minutes and goes back out. And when they torque converter unlocks it usually downshifts two gears for a second and back to 4th.
Also at highway speeds it will downshift two gears randomly and then right back into 4th and I have no idea why. Is it possible that the TPS is sending it a signal to downshift or something? When I got the car back they didnt tighten down the throttle cables and they popped off the throttle bodies so I put them back on and tightened them down. And when in Park I can rev the engine and the car will roll. Did I mess something up? So frustrated right now...

Just thinkin mine did somethin similar when the fluid got low(on the trans side) But I would check the wires to the TPS and the MAF as my trans didn't want to shift right when my MAF was bad. oh and the TPS is supposed to be sending signal at .5 volts (I think at idel)

well either way it died last night. In a wonderful 80mph show of steam and trans fluid... it was horribly wonderful...
