A happy day for my svx
I bought my car with an exhaust leak. The two inlet gaskets on my catalytic converter were rusted and whithered to nothing, so I replaced them, the converter, and the cat-back piping today. Wow, my entire list of car problems is now turned to almost zero (have some fluid leaks just like everybody else on here). I guess these things need to have a smooth leak-free exhaust for everything else to work properly.
The car no longer hesitates/studders, lights don't flicker, and power delivery is 100% smoother. Oh and best of all it's nice and quiet now. I love my car again

I got exact exhaust leak location. Did you replace the 2 donut gaskets? Did you use the OEM parts? If so, what's the part #?
Thanks |

I went to a stealership and ordered oem gaskets and springbolts. I picked up a used (but in much better shape than mine) exhaust from a local guy on this board.

Well I still need to seal up some oil leaks, mainly what appears to be a passenger side valve cover gasket. If the EG33 were anything like the Nissan or Honda engines I've owned I'd knock it out in 20 minutes, but yeah.. it's definitly not.

[QUOTE] I'll have you know the only thing my car leaks in air :P I took it in to see why 3 of the tires leaked, had all 4 checked, the 3 leaking ones had dirty seals the only one that even tried to hold air is severely cracked. Now its losing 3 psi a day (which i think is better than the 20 psi a week the other 3 were losing but still its annoying to constantly fill you tires) glad you got it fixed. Now why don't you come over here and fix that annoying rattle/blatting noise mine still makes (one of these days i will have time to do it myself) |

Sounds like it is time for some new tires.

Thats awsome the same exaust doughnuts went in mine but i went to NAPA and got 2 that measured the same size for like 1/4th the price from subaru put some exaust sealer around the neck of the doughnut had to tap them on the pipe. It was a good snug fit and workes great also when the svx has an exaust leak you loose some power and is not a smooth.
