Snow + Sliding = Shaky ride passed 60???

As most of us in the North East know it snowed a little bit... Well I like i assume many others did, had fun in the snow sliding around and such. Tonight was the first night since the snow that I took her out for an "exteneded" drive.
As i hit about 60mph i felt my steering wheel shake as if I needed to get my tires balanced AGAIN. But it felt worst then when I had to change tires and got the shaked passed 60. It felt like I was gonna loose a tire (not like I know what loosing a tire feels like). So I pulled over and looked to see if I got a flat in the 5 min it took me to go from my house to the highway and no flat. Tires look fine and I dont know what or how to look for anything else dealing with alignment or balancing.
So let me know what it sounds like to any of you. Will a simple balancing do the trick or is it something worst???

Remove all the snow that's on the inside of your wheels/rims and the shaking should go away...
