Significant Technical Input Registered SVX
You have only the transmission to pull from the Impreza.....

You have to use the svx tcu.
You can not use an Impreza rear end, unless it is a five bolt side plate rear end.

You HAVE to use a torque converter from the svx, or from an Legacy Outback with a 2.5 engine.

You have to re-use the speed sensor from the svx.

You have to use either a 4.11(matching the trans ratio) limited slip or use the Legacy housing with the svx limited slip carrier, mounted in the Legacy five bolt side plate rear end.

What svxfiles said ^^^^

I had to use the input shaft from the SVX in a 98 model Imprezza transmission as the end of the Imprezza shaft stuck out further than the SVX shaft & wouldn't allow the torque converter to fully seat - it's an easy swap, slide one out, slip the other in.
