Carbon Fiber hood w/ WRX-style scoop

I like the looks of the carbon fiber hood with the scoop, but according to motorsportwarehouse 's paragraph on it, it states that it is not garunteed to fit properly, or to have a quality finish. For those SVX'ers out there that have this hood, please describe how the fit and finish is on your carbon fiber hood. Does this hood have that "carbon fiber" pattern on it.. i cant tell from the pics i have seen of it. If i do not go with this hood, then I think that i will go with the matching fiberglass one, as long as the fit and finish is perfect on those too. thanks!

Neither hood replacement will have the perfect fit that the stock one does, but from the guys that have 'em, it sounds like the C/F hood fits pretty well. It does have the carbon fiber pattern since it is carbon fiber. You can see it in a couple of the guys' lockers. I personally like it to match the car, so I like how Earl has his painted on his Laguna Blue. BTW, hood pins are recommended for the C/F hood... but you can get the stock latch to work.

The fit is pretty good, although not perfect. On mine, there's a little more of a gap on the passenger side where it lines up with the fender, but it's hardly noticeable (or worth complaining about). The first CF hood I got had a crack in the scoop (from shipping apparently) so I had to send it back and get another (this wasn't from MSW). And yes, it's got the CF pattern and the clear coat looks nice. Eventually, I plan on painting mine.

Just FYI, the stock hood struts won’t work because the hood is too light. Also, I’m not using any hood pins; the latch works fine.

I got lifters to work on my CF hood.

I tried to order one not too long ago. there sold out and the company that makes them broke the mold and has no intention of making another one.

I do not have hood pins, and I use the latch too. It fits fine.

Its sad but true, no more CF hoods

Just glass hoods, and CF bolt on scoops.

Until we whip up another design and have a batch
of 15 mininum made....which wont be anytime soon.

Carbon Fiber Hood Here is a CF hood offered by nippon power. I've never talked to anyone that has ordered from them though.

they buy their hoods from the same source we
do.....they wont be able to get any either.
