Front Brake boots were torn.
I was changing the brake pads on my car to some metal masters, and when i was changing the front pads i noticed that were small rips in the rubber boots around the pistons. I put the new pads in and the car is driving fine, what will this affect, should i rebuild the front rotors?

Yes, you should rebuild them. The boots keep out dirt and water. If you don't fix it, the pistons will start to hang up and wear out your brakes and rotors. Not a good thing. Whenever you see something that has worn, the best thing to do is fix it or do the maintenance on it. That way the problems won't be apt to snowball on you.

From recent experience trying to do the rebuild myself, I'd recommend that you buy a rebuilt caliper, or a pr of them from someone like Autozone. I paid around $30 to the dealer for a rebuild kit good for both sides, used it up trying to rebuild just 1, and bought rebuilts for about $80 a side, plus about $55 core charge each(refunded) with lifetime warranty . Unless you have a press or something of exactly the right size to press the boots into place, or some secret formula for getting both inner and outer lips to fit into their respective grooves I'd save myself the grief. My pistons wouldn't be coaxed out with anything less than waterpump pliers either, scarring the pistons, probably easily done with air pressure, but.......Been there, done that. I'm sure there's someone out there to call me hopeless/helpless not to do the rebuild, but were it to happen again I wouldn't bother. My $.02.
