Radical
Well, the car's been garaged for about a month now with a blown rad. It cracked right along the top. Bummer.
So I ordered one from the former Subaru dealer's garage here in town. First the guy quoted me $550 CAD for it, so I said what the heck, it'll be about the same if I ordered from the internet by the time shipping and exchange are added. Got a call from the garage (appropriately named "Dick's Garage") and they tell me that they accidentally ordered the wrong part! They had ordered a condenser for the A/C and that the rad would actually be MORE expensive. $789 to be more precise. So I said, "no thanks." and am taking my business elsewhere, like on the internet. Either motorsportwarehouse.com or subaruparts.com, whichever will give me a better deal. Anyone have other places to try? |

Want a used one? I've got a car I'm about to part out.

www.newsubaru.com will give you the best oem deal. Below $300 US. Call them for the exact price. They don't post wholesale prices on the net. Best part about them is they charge actual shipping rather than 10% of total.
Have you tried patching it with magnum steel? There are plenty of success stories on the board of people who have patched theirs (me included).

Too late, though I appreciate the offers/advice. I just ordered one from Dayle at Motorsport Warehouse. He beat out Subaruparts.com, for starters, and he has been really helpful so far.
I went with brand new because I just couldn't trust a patch job. Plus, I've seen one when shopping for SVX before and didn't like the look of it, all sloppy, etc. I'll let you all know how this turns out. |
