D*mn! I don't understand how people can afford such nice cars, with so many modifications, without having a good degree and experience in a fairly highly paid career. I wish I could manage to afford even 1/4 of what I see sooo many kids do to their cars.

That Supra looks like one I saw on a short video entitled, "Wisconsin Dyno Day." That clean metalic green is pretty unique... could it have been the same Supra?

What I wouldn't give to feel the rush of even a 12 sec. car! I feel so deprived... my friends drive Neons, not Supras (at least not yet).

Simple. It's called one of two things:

1. Rich parents, who pay for their kid's expenses...
2. Credit cards. Great. They have a nice car. They also owe a ton of money.

I'm glad I'm neither. I paid for my own car, its pretty sweet (even though its slow), and I DONT OWE ANYBODY MONEY!

summer jobs, hook-ups, wealthy parents, lack of bills, checks from grandma, chemical x...
these are the ingredients for your average teenage street racer.
only thing the average joe 20 and up crew can do is eat rice. large quantities of rice.

if youve got the patience, that neon can hit 12s. i wouldnt worry about getting a supra too much.

Damn straight. My friend Shawn Henry drove his black ACR coupe up from Texas to WI last year, ran a 12.2, and drove back home. Bad-ass.

It is nice not owing any money. Also, not nice to have people owe you a lot of money, and by no means ever pay you back due to some sort of selective memory stupidness!

I hated seeing kids driving Porsches and Vettes and SS's, etc. in high school. One kid had a VR-4 as a daily driver, and then I'd see him cruising in daddy's Viper or Ferrari! The whole time I was feeling lucky to have an SVX to drive (although it is still technically my dad's... it is MY baby).

Heck, the Neons could be in the 9's... but these are in the financial crunch state, and the, "I don't care much about cars, and I'm not going to mod it," state.

Rob, did he do the 2.4 swap and/or turbo?

I love running at the track or a good autox.
My track car is getting painted now so i am really tempted to take the SVX and run it this week at the local 1/8. I don't normally run it hard, I reserve it for my nice hwy trips. Thats why i built a track car to punish.
I just race for the fun and rush of it, just something for me, not for anyone else, reading the other posts, I know some of you can relate.
What do you guys think an SVX will do in the 1/8, no mods, I'm guessing high 10 low 11.
Enjoy your cars, thats what they are for.

Jim
