Smile New Wheels

After several weeks of searching the web I finally took the plunge and ordered new aftermarket wheels yesterday.
This is a complete about face from my original decision to stay stock and go with refinished OEM rims. The problem I kept facing was that nobody has the wheels in stock so you pretty much have to send them your old wheels to be refinished. That was too much of a hassle and too much time.
I went with Team Dynamic because of their high offset wheels. I wanted to stay with the original size - 16x7.5 - and the highest offset in this size is 45mm which they say has fit SVX's just fine.
They also have two styles of wheel which they have in a 50mm offset but only in 17" and 18" but I was against the bigger diameter.
As a point of interest, in all my searching the best price was at Victoria Tire but found them to be less than helpful when it came to answering questions. I also wanted to see the wheels before laying down the cash. Team Dynamic put me on to their only distributor in Wisconsin, Wilde Honda in Waukasha. You read right, a Honda dealer. Brad there was very helpful but what I could not believe is that he was $200 a set cheaper than Victoria Tire.
So now it's onto tires - Dunlop SP5000 - probably from Tire rack.
Sorry for being long winded.

i love the clean rims like the Rim2000 Silver. Those are nice. Also I like the Motorsport Silver.

It was a toss up between the Rim2000 and the DTM. Finally I went with the DTM in chrome. Now I'm nervous just hoping they look as good as I imagine. Fingers crossed. I'm due to pick them up on Friday.
If I had been prepared to go to 17" I think my choice would have been the Monza with the 50mm offset. The Motorsport is also available with the 50mm offset in 17"

I dig those DTMs. Nice choice...except for the chrome.

I was thinking the other day that black painted wheels would look nice on my car. Besides looking nice, I could keep the stock wheels, refinish 'em and not worry about MI roads bashing them into squares...

mmmmmmm, new wheels

Don't forget the pictures when you're done. I like your choice and wish you well when it comes time to keeping them free of brake dust!

If all goes to plan, that is if the wheels and tires arrive on Friday and I can get the tires mounted then I should be all set to post pictures by the weekend.

i almost went with the team dynamics...

six spoke wheel but just fell in love with the enkei's instead. why are you getting such a high offeset? my 17" wheels have as 38mm offset and i have had no problems. good luck with your wheels and tires.
