the 944 is on the relatively cheap side, as far as Porsches go, too.

The best way I've heard of masking the rubber spoiler (eh, its personal preferance whether you like it or not) was someone that managed to paint it with the correct flex agents that it is shiny and perfectly matches the rest of the car, even after several years. I wonder how hard it was to figure out exactly what flex agents you needed, because that rubber is quite pliable.

The 968 spoiler on a 951 is very enticing. Just very expensive.

Here is a 968 wing on a 944 S2 which is the 951 minus the Turbo. This is the Cobalt Blue, a rare and beautiful color. The 944 S2 has the 3.0L 4 cylinder and 951 nose and underbody wing.

I like your plan to add the 993 "red" BBK to car if you get her. Red calipers w/ big silver rotors would look so HOT on a black 951!!! I also like the fact that you're going to improve braking performance before adding anymore power - even though at ~300 crank hp in a 3,200lb car, she pretty much has enough! -Chike

Alan, nice photo. It appears to be in England from the plate.

you might be able to save a few bucks by getting the 928 GTS brakes - they are the exact same as the Big Reds, only they are painted black. i'm guessing Porsche probably charges more for the red paint and the fact they are from the 911 Turbo.
the Big Reds might be overkill, though - 928 S4/GT brakes would be even cheaper. they stopped my 3500+lb S4 like it was hitting a brick wall, so they would be insane on a lightweight 951.

Here is a close up of the motor. I asked about the brakes, no upgrades yet.

Interesting pic. Do the 951's come stock with a FMIC (front mount intercooler) or did he upgrade to one? I never realized where the turbo resided in the 944/951/968 engine until I saw that pic (right under the intake manifold).
That's pretty insane and very tight packaging. Motor looks like it's been maintained, even though it's showing its age with oxidation in certain places...

its not bad for 25+ (?) years old. nothing a little Foamy Engine Brite, some elbow grease and a hose wouldn't fix.

However, I must agree. The perimeter of the engine bay could be cleaned up nicely with some engine brite and elbow grease. Quick question Dan - has the owner replace all engine external engine seals & the timing belt? If not, ask him whether the engine drips any oil? Leaky seals are common in older Porsches (like any other car) but unlike the SVX, it won't be a $500-$800 job to get them replaced.
