cam seal installation question
I am replacing the lower cam seals on my 95 SVX and had a question. Normally when I replace seals they are installed flush to the surface, the seals in the motor for the cams are both 1/8" recessed into the seal bore. The motor has 125K on it and I believe that the seals are the originals. is this some EG33 thing that I'm not aware of?
Thanks you,Doug |

Re: cam seal installation question
For Subarus, many times the seal holes have a small bevel to the edge of them. If they have this bevel, I will normally sink the seal in until it is at the bevel edge instead of flush with the outside of the seal hole.

Re: cam seal installation question
Yea, the bevel is around 1/32". I set the seals in just below the bevel. I'm use to my 2.5 DOH Cmotor which the cam seals would bottom out when installing them. these are like the rear seal, no stops. thanks.
