Available: Free Engine Parts

Available: engine block and heads (heads are removed from the block), free to good home, you pick up (will not deliver). The block is stripped of accessories - no sensors, sprockets, just the block case with pistons and crankshaft. Heads come without camshafts, lifters negotiable.

Condition, the good:
- Passed emissions just before disassembly, reasonable leak down tests (15-25%)
- Smooth idle, no lifter noise.
- regular 3k oil changes at least for the last 72k

Condition, the bad:
- 172k
- gunked up a lot despite regular 3k oil changes and periodic flushes

Condition, the ugly:
- Slow leak of water into oil (has been present for many years). Assume a crack in a head or block, not a head gasket.
- Small Leak of exhaust gases into water (the reason for engine removal). Also assume a crack, no traces of failure in the head gasket were visible.
- Half oil pressure at idle, full pressure at 2000 rpm. May be the original oil pump is worn, may be bearings.

You pick up in East Bay. If nobody picks up during the next week, I'll crack the block case open - I still want to see where it leaks - and invest $13 for the visit to the local dump station.

It's probably close to 200 pounds of aluminum, must be worth something to somebody

intake

Do you have an extra intake manifold? Maybe? The previous owner thought that spray-painting the entire engine bay with black Krylon was the way to go, and I'd really like to get a shiny silver one...

Roo, I do have the manifold and since you are the first to ask, you can have it.

Napa, sorry you are next after NeedForSpeed.

NeedForSpeed - I'll hold it for you here in Sebastopol, or have it in the trunk in San Rafael (I work for Marin Mazda Subaru).

gl1674 - I want to thank you for your generousity, and will get you pricing for the part you requested. It's never a bother to help a brother...

Sounds good Roo, I'll need some parts in the next few months, but I don't know exactly what yet, I'll yell when the time comes, I think it is mostly outside of the block/heads.
