Don't tell Randy I said this, but I've always thought a canary yellow SVX would be cool to the extreme.

I am finally here.

Sorry for being so rude not replying for all your greetings messages but something was still missing from the site admin guys and I had to stay as an anxious voyeur up to now.

So take a BIIIIIIG THANK YOU for your warm welcome.

About Portugal you can take a look here:
http://www.maps.com/cgi-bin/search/h...alP&Qualifier=
We run on GMT time (we are barely to the left of London vertical southwise).

I will be back later with a few questions for all of you and I will ask MartyMcFly (get ready Marty!) for some advise regarding EuroSVXes.
I don't have a SVX yet but I have my eyes on a Yellow (wow!!!) German based one and I MUST take a decision up to next Monday.

I must go now (as Uncamitzi says "not now I'm driving").

Tone

Here are the pictures of the Yellowsub (sorry Beatles, it's my turn now).

I did not go there to see it but the guys selling it sent me the pictures attached.

More details:
- one owner
- daily used vehicle
- 1996
- 110000km
- 8000 Euro
- fully maintained at a Sub dealer as confirmed in the maintenance book faxed to me (I called them and they immediately identified the car and the owner and confirmed it is in good condition)
- reason for selling: owner died

Sub dealer also told me it had a small crash on the right backside with no damage of suspension and that the owner replaced that back panel.
Don't know if the spoiler flew in the same crash though.
I think I will need one or I will feel miserable.

I don't really like those rims but it seems they were standard option, at least in Germany (click on the "SVX" link and then on any "Fahrzeugansicht" word under this Sub.de link: http://www.subaru.de/Seiten/Archiv/FArchiv.htm).
You will see a nice pic of an SVX with, it seems, same wheels.
Anyway they told me they are in posession of the originals.

The bad news and the questions will follow.

Welcome, tone. I couldn't get the view of the rims to pop up, as both me & my old computer are "challenged".

However - Did anyone go to the other link? Click on Subaru Libero.
Voila! Looky there! - an '80s AWD Suby "van". Looks like the early Toyota van, that I forgot the name of. Specs say a whoppin' 1.2 liter 52 HP mill. Now there's a willing SVX 3.3 transplant recipient!

Ron.

I think that the yellow color (or should I write colour?)never entered the US and was only sold in Japan and Europe.
Can anybody confirm this?

I am afraid to ask but...
Who, in the forum, owns a yellow? Maybe some Euro Member...

I think I will call it Smilie if I buy it.

I asked Subaru Portugal about SVXes around and got the answer I was expecting: it was never even homologated in Portugal.

I will be lucky if I buy one because with EEC administrative scenario I can easily get an European homologation otherwise I would have to pay heavily for the procedure.

The ones they know about are from foreign people (two or three they said), all Lisbon based and all with right sided steering wheel.

They praised the car bumper to bumper. Not even the tranny was quoted as having problems and they seemed ok to handle any tranny problem because they are used to a few 4EAT units from Legacy's.
