ignition timing

can you advance the ignition timing on the svx? i have access to a subaru select moniter. olso, other than MSD at $650 does anyone have a multipal spark unit?

I think there are other more cost effective ways to gain HP. Systems like MSD can yeild small gains and are expensive.
