Rear subframe large bushings?
I remember someone posting that the large diameter bushings for the rear subframe mounting are not available (separately).....
See post #50: http://www.dirtyimpreza.com/forums/s...ight-OBS/page4 I wonder if these fit the SVX? /T |

Re: Rear subframe large bushings?
I used the kartboy outrigger inserts (for 02-07 impreza) and the rear subframe inserts (for 08-14 impreza) on mine with the original bushings to lock it all down.
http://www.kartboy.com/x4/product.ph...cat=253&page=3 http://www.kartboy.com/x4/product.ph...cat=254&page=2 I also use the whiteline rear diff inserts (for 08-14 impreza) to lock down my diff. I just had to trim the insert piece down a little to slip into the SVX bushings. You only use 2 of the 4 pieces, they slip in from the rear. Its the ones with the large wing and 2 poles. The sides of the wing have to be trimmed in a little and they will slip right in. http://turninconcepts.com/diff-mount...t-bushing.html |

Re: Rear subframe large bushings?
Thanks for the info. I will need to address these some time in the future.
There's a bit of surface rust on the subframe and the mounting hardware and I am making plans to drop the whole assy down for cleaning. Replacing all the 22 years old rubber is probably not a bad idea while at it. /T |

Re: Rear subframe large bushings?
The polish bushing company sells them. I think the name is strong flex but it has been a while.

Re: Rear subframe large bushings?
How bad are yours? I decided to just reinforce my existing bushings with some urethane. I was even able to re-stick the little lip that runs around the perimeter:
Did the diff bushings as well:

Re: Rear subframe large bushings?
Thanks, that's one option to keep in mind.
The bushings do not seem real bad visually. /T |

Re: Rear subframe large bushings?
Ouch, looks like my parts. Those two bolts were the ones that scared me the most as well. Fortunately they came out, but the metal there is quite thin so it's not surprising to see it fail.

Re: Rear subframe large bushings?
Yeah,
It was rusted thru from the inside out. I repaired both sides with 2mm sheet metal, etched with metal prep and now everything is painted with POR15, waiting for reassembly and rust proofing :-). Luckily those were the only areas with severe damage. /T |
