2 SVXs in Junkyard in NH

Allied Auto Wrecking - Weare NH

VIN JF1CX3554RH102789
VIN JF1CX3231RK101086

Went there today and picked up a few odds and ends. Good blue tinted glass on one of them. The one with ending 086 has only 99k on it but it looks like the timing belt snapped.

The one ending in 789 was rusty and had 117k on it but the engine was gone.

Those rims look like they are in good shape. Do you have the phone number for the yard?

Re: 2 SVXs in Junkyard in NH

t-belt snapping doesn't matter. Non interference engine.
I'd be sure to grab the coils, especially off the low mileage one. also any other engine sensors-cam, crank, TPS, MAF, (don't worry about the knock sensors)
I'd also advise someone to grab the glas, even if you have to pay for a glass remover to come out, it's worth the $100 or so dollars to have a spare windshield.

Re: 2 SVXs in Junkyard in NH

I used to frequent that place.

Looks like they might have doors for me. Mine are getting pretty bad with the rust, so are my rear fenders Can anyone derive what years they are from the VIN? (I'm pretty sure I saw a vin decoder around here somewhere... Hmmm)

EDIT found it. Looks like "R" is the year code, which makes them both 94's, so they're my color! Score!

Figures, looks like they're closed on Sunday, my only day off this week. Looks like I'll have to do a run on Wednesday next week.

Sorry never mind ....I must have missed the 1st pictures the first time around . they look like cloth seats on both. I guess I could replace front and rear with cloth.

I think the color is Barcelona red, correct? The doors on the better one were nice, along with the glass. The doors on the other one were, well, crap

Conn SVX the rusty one had almost a completely stripped interior. but on the other one it is complete except for a master window switch (as of yesterday)

Re: 2 SVXs in Junkyard in NH

That master switch , if I ever go to a yard and see one I will get it . Hot item and when it goes it is a pain in the butt . Had one go on the 92 13 years ago , no drive up window or toll booths till I got a new one.
IMHO I think we should grab stuff like that before it is all gone . Small stuff that we can store no problem . windshields will be a problem . Next is X ref of parts that will fit .

That car is in Weare, NH. I was there a month ago, bought the steering wheel, center console, rear seat, back and bottom, fronts where gone, MAF, radio,cd with cage and front cover. That car was being parted out on ebay. The still have the tranny, but want $850 for it.

Re: 2 SVXs in Junkyard in NH

I spoke to them on the phone before heading up. They said they werent aware of the rarity and desire of the svx parts. They had a nice polo, which foolishly gave to the local fire dept. to use for training excercises. Can you say JAWS of LIFE. What a shame and waste of good parts.

Noticed that a junk yard has one listed on their site in Columbus, OH, might go check it out tomorrow. Just landed on the yard on 7/6/11.
