Re: correct battery fitment?

I just recently fitted a new battery, it was a Yuasa "096" It fills the space fully, and has a 2 year warranty

Re: correct battery fitment?

Depends if you have a Japanese or UK car.

The Jap ones have the horns mounted in front of the battery and the UK-size battery won't fit. The Jap-size battery doesn't seem to be available here.

I found one in Halfords, same width and length as the Jap one, but not as tall, so I put a half inch block of wood on top to hold it in place. The other alternative is to move the horns.

Re: correct battery fitment?

Interesting piece of info here. I wondered how UK cars had room for the horns? The headlamps are longer so the horns have to move backward. If you have a US battery there is no room to move them back. The smaller battery would account for this room. I had to move mine to the frame rail which is not an easy task as the AC lines leave little room for the horns to vibrate. Makes an awful sound
