ignition coils

If I am not mistaken our only option is OEM right? After installing the EUTUNE stage 2av1 today, I still have a rough idle. I pulled all the injector clips one at a time to verify connections, and every time the car stalled. It should run on only 5 cylinders, right? I figure I have possibly multiple bad coils. It runs decentush up top, but it does not idle correctly. I thought it was the cams, but I am almost positive its the coils. They are the only thing that was reused in the build that could causea rough idle. Also, I feel it should pull harder.

That being said, she sounds good and makes good power. I just think she should make more. And she sounds like she has an occasional miss.

Re: ignition coils

It will limp home on 4 cylinders. I had the 2 front coils go on mine at the same time. What about the MAF?

Re: ignition coils

same kind of symptoms too. super rough idle. went away at higher rpms. i didn't drive her though, i towed her to the shop, because i had JUST got her back from an oil change from my mechanic (who hates subarus and thinks my dad is a retard for buying me a car this fast for a first car) who i thought drained all the oil so the engine would seize.. turned out i wasn't putting the dipstick in all the way i hate being so paranoid.

Re: ignition coils

Hey Cam.
I still have the old coils out of mine.
If you want to borrow them to troubleshoot, let me know.

Re: ignition coils

Sounds like a good deal to me Andrew. We'll touch base. Did you know which one was bad when you got your new ones?
