Idle RPM

What is normal idling RPM for the svx and what is redline for the motor?

600 RPM plus/minus 100-150, I believe its 6800 redline but someone may correct me.

Mine idles at ~540 RPM. Something is telling me redline is 6500.

IIRC the rev limit is slightly different for "in gear" and "in neutral". Idle speed depends on coolant temp and is compensated for a/c and power steering loads.

thanks for the input. the reason i ask is because when i modified my tachometer in my volkswagen to accept the svx's signal it says its idling around 1000rpm at idle - i know this is because the vw tach is setup to accept a signal for a 4-clinder but with the 6cylinder it sends 2 extra pules per revolution.

i cant find a way to fix this so instead im going to make a ratio to compare the vw tach to and need to know around where idle rpm is.
