Question Problems whit the wiper.

I have not try to set my wiper in the normal posion.
But when i use the wiper coppels of times then the wiper is stay little up on the window. And when i drive the car the wiper is going little out of the window and make a little knok noise. And i dont know what to change. To make this stay in the normal possion.

Re: Problems whit the wiper.

Easy fix Alex. Just pop out the round rubber cover at the base of the wiper arm, loosen the nut that holds the wiper onto the shaft, lift off and reposition it to it's proper position and replace and tighten the nut. It may take a couple of tries to get it just right.

Re: Problems whit the wiper.

Have you checked the position of the wiper switch on the lower dash panel (left side of the steering wheel). Reach under and you can feel it. When it is in the "Winter" position, they park higher on the windshield when stopped.

Move the switch to the "summer" position to see if it changes where they stop.

You can tell whether your wipers are in Summer or Winter mode. In summer mode, after you turn the wipers off, they make an extra sweep of the screen.

Set the wipers on continuous then push the stalk up to the off position. If the wipers are in Winter mode they will just stop at the bottom of the current wipe. If they are in Summer mode they will go back up, pause for a moment, and then come down all the way onto their stops.

Alex, can you tell if the shaft the wiper arm is mounted to is moving, or just the arm? One wiper, or both? Does sound like possible internal mechanism problem.

Re: Problems whit the wiper.

How can i bee so stupid. I have check this problem few times now. But i have not look, I see this morning that the wiper arm is going in the hood. And if i phus it down then i can put it on the braket where the wiper shoud bee.

So i think maybe the spring inside the wiper is bad. But when i take the wiper in my hand i can also move both. So then my big qvestion can i just change the wiper arm then? Or is it something else too?

Re: Problems with the wiper.

Both the inside of the wiper arms (Part 13 and 14) and the shaft it attaches to (part 9 and 11) have fine teeth that interlock to keep them from slipping when tightened down. Check to see if they are worn.

The springs are probably fine.

Re: Problems with the wiper.

I had the problem of a stripped wiper blade arm, only in my case it was the wiper motor mechanism that was stripped as well.

If this is your case, I would advise you use caution when removing the plastic piece beneath the wipers (the piece that extends the entire width of the car below the windshield), do not pry it up with the fulcrum of your prying tool resting on the windshield...this is how mine cracked. Not an inexpensive fix.

Re: Problems whit the wiper.

Not quite the same as your problem but one of my wipers stopped working. Turned out the nut (part 16) was loose. Tightened it up and all worked well.
