3 hrs. I would have to say they're scamming you. I replaced 1 knock sensory myself in under an hour. It was the one nestled in under the intake manifold. I was using less than proper toold for the job, too (if I recall, needle nose pliers came into play for loosening the nut holding the sensor down). I would think it should take no more than an hour for the shop to do.

I did both of mine in about an hour. It is a fairly simple job, especailly for an experianced mechanic.
