Okay wheels fitted, took it for a 1500k run everything was good. Need to install back panels and inside wheel well covers and the job is complete. The handling wasn't as badly effected as I thought with the raising of the car by 50mm higher as the tyres are larger Dia and wider which increased the foot print. The car height is now 102mm higher, 135mm standard, 50mm extra from DMS and 52mm from the Wrangler tyres, total clearance 237mm or close to 5in.
Here are the pictures and it looks like its all tyre in real life. Tony

bigger wheels on a stock car
Trevor - looking at changing my tires from the stock 50 series 17" to a 55 series 17" (giving me approx 20mm more clearance) - do you see any issues with doing this, I know that speedo will be out, but I use GPS for speed anyway so that is not an issue.
As for the gearbox changes / diff issues, I don't think that the diffs will be a problem because all 4 wheels will be the same dia. |

What width tyre as we can use a Tyre size calculator to check it out for you.

Kevlar is tough, as in bullet-proof vest use.
It is a help to save the sidewalls from getting cut by stones. Joe

Also these tyres have a bigger side wall which should also help with the corrigations in the road. With the kevlar in the tyre I can run at a lower pressure which should help with vibrations from the road. On a rough road at speed its real hard to keep the tyre in contact with the ground. If the pressure is to high and the spring to soft the wheel just bounces and you have totally no control.
