Door sensor

Ok so my door sensor doesnt work at all. (the thing that tells the car the door is open) I think these are in the latch arent they? if so is it possible to replace that, last time I had my door skin off it looked virtually impossible. Any info would be great then I could get my lights and seatbelt workin again

Thanks

It's a little button type in hte front inside of the door jam. spray it with some lubricant and it shoudl be fine.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, scotch in one hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming HOOOOYA !!!!!

No. SubyLover had it right. It's inside the latch. But it is possible to fix it.

If you remove the door panel, first check the electrical connections on the latch before you go to the trouble of removing it. The latch itself comes out quite easy. Just unclip the rods, undo the screws and the bolt and then out it comes. Open the lid on the actuator and make sure there is no water inside and inspect all the electrical pathways. On one of mine there was a copper track that looked a bit corroded. So I checked it with a meter and sure enough, no continuity. I soldered in a new piece of wire and it solved the problem I was having.

There's some good info on fixing the door locks if you do a bit of searching.
