OK, we're at the Host Hotel and I came on to give an update while Ben ran for a "refill" of the cooler.

We ended the day in 17th out of 60+ in the AX, Ben's best run wasn't beat by the expert driver when he took two turns in our car. Looking back we probably could have finished in the top ten if Ben ran all 5.

We're schmoosing and offereing beer to try to source a LARGE nitrous system for tomorrows drag race. Is a 175 shot too big???? (We'll be making some calls tomorrow for some tech advice...)

In the concousres we are running abou the middle of the pack. At first I was a little dissapointed, but looking at the level of work that went into some of these antiques, I feel good about our place there.

Once again, this is a great group of folks, and thanks again to our family for helping us over the past two years.

ps... My camera took a crap tonight, so there probably won't be many pics

Dave,
Sorry I didn't pick up the phone when Ben called, I was down in the garage working on the Perl with Young Tom. The shirts showed up in today's mail -- I will definitely be wearing them with pride!!

I especially like the sound of the #83 car, a 1983 Mercury Crapi! That simple mistake in spelling probably says more for this group of cars than any other words could convey.

Sitting in the hotel lobby waiting for the banquet to get started. We managed a best time at the drag of 14.242. That was with no deck lid, no belt to turn the PS or Alt, a few of the crankcase vent lines unplugged, and the O2 sensors unplugged.

I had about 10-12 runs running up to 14.7~~. I'll post more of the details when I get home.

Tonight is going to be a looooonnnnnggggg drive...
