Arrow Tire recommendation Please

Im shopping for tires, and I cant make up my mind on what kind to get. Svxcess recommended the Toyo Proxes 4, but I see they wear fast. I like the tread design a lot though. Was also looking at the Falken Ziex Ze 512. I want something thats on the quiet side and has great dry and wet traction. Will not be driving in the snow, so thats not an issue. Give me some suggestions and ideas. Thanks. Dan

proxes 4 would be the best bang for the buck. not the best in the world but pretty damn cheap.

Wear fast?

My Proxes4 tires have 35,000 miles on them and I still have alot of tread left. They are still very quiet and perform extremely well. I plan on getting another set installed before winter, but I wan't to see if I can find a 17" wheel I like before I commit to keeping the stock wheels.

I had a set of the Proxes4 put on my son's pearlie (that he bought from svxit). He has the Koni shocks all around set to the firmest setting. These tires are the best blend of comfort, performance and quiet that I have come across for these cars.

Set of 4 tires, mounting, balance, valve stems tax. $388.95 out the door

Arrow IM leaning towards the Yokohamas

Svxcess, I have read a lot of reviews on 1010tires.com on the toyo proxes 4's and Im still not convinced. The best tires I have ever owned are the Yokohama Avid series, very quiet, great handling and cornering, as well as wet traction, have had them on all my legacys. They are bit ($10 per tire) more expensive than the Toyos, but Im fine with that. It will be one or the other, will decide shortly. Thanks.

That's very good for the ultra high performance all season tire category. How many percent of tread left do you have, John? If you can get 45,000 miles up out of them, that's very good.

Unless I can find something around with similar performance less than 300 a set for everything, else this is still one of the best value.

Below is the result of my Toyo proxes4 after 35,000 miles(occasionally pretty hard driving) plus on my MX-3 GS, they still performed alright when they're bald but I need traction on the wet so I got another set of new tires...

I like my Pirelli P Zero Neros....except they don't last when you run over a chunk of ice that falls off of the car in front of you in the wintertime....lol (The tread punctured, but was pluggable)
Tires approx. $100/ea. tirerack.com

I put over 60k miles on my SVX, changed the tires twice with Yokohamas. They suck! noisy and weak! avoid! PS I cruise 200 miles a day all highway.

I like the Falken 512's... quiet and decent wear. Traction was good also.

I run Yokohama AVS ES100 on my 18 summer rims. They have good wet and dry traction.

I just got my job transfer today! I will be driving 20 miles rather than 200 miles a day. This will extend the life of my SVX and give me more time to play with it.
I'm also looking for tires, the quietest ones available, any suggestions?
