Limited Slip Additive

I searched the threads and read about Brad Penn LSD Additive concentrate and I am really interested in purchasing some. First question, where can I find this product? Second question, is there an equivalent product I can buy at a car parts store or something?

What is the weight of the oil and how much should be added to the transmission (1 bottle, 2 bottles, etc.?)

Unless your transmission is binding when you are making sharp turns, you don't want to use limited slip additive in the tranny. This stuff is very slippery, and it reduces the friction of the clutches in the tranny which will lead to premature clutch failure. If your tranny is binding, I'd try to figure out if there was another way to stop the binding.

I've got a case of the binds.....especially when turning slow left or right. I figured I'd give this stuff a try since I've heard some other members have tried it and had good results.
I wanted to try it out before I go to the dealer and have them look at the rear u-joint or the clutch plates.

You have torquebind. It's an 800 job so...

Sounds contagious, but does the watermelon housing on the Legacy have similarities to Svx?

4EAT's are 4EAT's. SVX ones are beefier and geared differently, but they're the same size and shape (hence Legacy 5MT's swap so nicely into the SVXi)

Please check your T.P.S. voltage. At idle it should be 0.50.

I searched the thread and checking the voltage looks to me like it's not a simple test with the multimeter, right? Someone did a write up on how to do that, but I got confused just reading some of it. Doesn't a bad voltage give you a flare in the shift? What defines a flare?? My car currently shifts fine...I only drive in "3" and "D".

First thing I'm going to do is one of the obvious.....I am getting new tires installed in a few days. My car has had two sets of tires from different manufacturers on them now and they should be all the same with an AWD car. So I will make sure the tires are installed and the correct pressures are there.

Actually it is a very simple test.
Find the TPS on the drivers side of the throttle body.
Tap into the (middle), white wire on the three wire connector.
With the key on, and all electrical equipement off, check the voltage.
It should be 0.50 volts.
To adjust it, loosen the two screws holding the tps body, and turn it until the voltage is correct.
Tighten and re-check.
