EXTRA EXTRA: Wife 'Gets' It!

My wife has called me a 'big fat dork' for driving all day to a meet. She buried her head in shame when I told her, in public, that I was out at midnight in Evansville, IN photographing my car. She's even been sort of upset that the 10th Anniversary meet is on her birthday.

But I think she gets it now.

Last night she went into the closet and came out with her snowman pajama pants neatly folded.

'I want you to have these. I'm donating them for car-polishing.'

I was shocked. My chin actually got rug-burn from hitting the floor so hard. 'But...but...these are your soft snowman pants. You love these.'

If there's one 'thing' in the world my wife cherishes, it's soft clothing - especially pajamas. Relegating her favorite pair to icky, dorky car pampering just didn't fit into my uiniversal theory.

'I know, but I have some new pairs of pajama pants, and I know you love your SVX just as much as I love my pajamas. And these are soft and she'll love them.'

My wife called my car 'she.'

I mean, that's so unreal I don't even have a smartass comment in reply.

Wow!

That's way cool. Haven't thought about using pajamas as polishing towels, but it makes sence.

Cool on the wife "getting" it.

Now if you can convince her to donate mod money from the new pajama fund you would really have it going on!

-gasp- Surely you jest, sir! MODIFY my SVX? Are you INSANE? Certainly not - my SVX will remain as her creator intended her to be!

Funny. I hadn't read your post before posting mine. However, I never considered using "dude."

To be honest, I think randy has called me 'dude' a number of times off the 'network.'

Agree completely with the 'creator' comment. Stock all the way. My wife understands about my car. She always treats it with respect and knows how I feel. Very cool.

Nick,

You better do something really, really nice for her tomorrow. You should also let share the driving your SVX to the 10th Anniv. Meet.

Larry III
PS: Don't forget to stay quiet while she's driving. I had to learn the hard way not to comment.

sounds like a good wife.

my wife is pretty damn good to me too. she let me buy wheels, tires, brakes and rotors, suspension, and even my exhaust. she grumbles a little when the car has to go in the shop but hell so do I!!

i hate to one up you pockets, but my wife actually saved $500 for me just so i could take my car in and get the oil leak and cv axle problem fixed. both problems are warrantied but there could be labor costs with the axle. anyway it was really sweet of her to think about me and our svx.

Polishing with PJ's

I know better than to ask Jean to donate her favorite sleepwear to help keep SuperRu looking good....

...all those rivets and buckles would scratch the finish.
