ac problems

So everyone knows about my hesitation issues with the defroster or air conditioning on. Well those problems have gone away ever since i dropped in my K&N filter. But now I have an even bigger issue....i turned on my a/c for the first time on sunday because the temps were in the 80's and it was blowing out hot air. I dont even think its working because I didnt even notice the idle rising a little like it should. At night when the temperature cooled down i put it on auto to see if it would work and the air blowing out was a little cooler but nothing drastically better. The a/c worked pretty well last year but I didnt use it that often because of my hesitation problems. I actually bareley used it...only really came into use in the winter when i needed defrost action. I guess I should do the climate control trouble shooting thing. Man this really sucks....its starting to get really hot too

Check to see if the compressor is turning in Auto mode.

Try the climate control diagnostics on http://svx-iw.com in the codes section.

For sure. My A/C is disabled and the windows will fog up easily.

is there any way to get them to defog with the a/c disabled. Being that the whole car is one big window this is going to cause massive headaches for me in NYC traffic

The 92's were the only ones with R12. 93 and up have R134. I find that my windshield defogs faster on "Econ" compared to "Def"

a simple charge with high mileage freon tends to clear this whole situation up. I will do Tom's in june when he comes to my place. I will do a writup for all of those 93+ owners using r134a

well, that sensor is the one on the driver's side of the dash. If u really wanna, get the sensor and replace it. If u wanna wait, I got a feelin it is just too low on freon that it won't activate the clutch. We will find out.

Okay, I'm resurrecting this thread from the dead.

My A/C decided to blow hot air today for some reason. It has never had a problem in the past (works very well, in fact), and I use it all the time. I have not noticed any slackening in its effectiveness lately, either. Just all of a sudden blows hot; not lukewarm or cool - HOT.

It was working perfectly until today, and yesterday I pulled the driver's door apart to install a new regulator for the window. In the process, the battery went nearly dead and I had to jump it. I don't see how this would have caused the problem, but it's the only thing that I did between it working and not working. It worked yesterday, and it blows hot today.

Any ideas? I'm dying out here in the heat!

Oh, and I can't get that link to load.
